Sophie is a flashy favorite. The style added by Chevalier in this cross was everything we hoped for. Nausicaa has been a top performer in both milk production and in the show ring so we are excited to see her daughter mature.

Unfortunately Sophie kidded 3 weeks early with a single DOA kid. Because of this she did not come into milk very strong but we are still really pleased with the shape and improved attachments of her udder. We look forward to next year to hopefully see some added capacity with another lactation.

Name meaning: Sophie Hatter is one of the main characters in the animated film Howl’s Moving Castle, another movie by director Hayao Miyazaki.
